The team at BeauCoo goes to great lengths to ensure the BeauCoo is a safe, secure and body positive social network. It's very important to us that our users understand why we make the choices we have, how we protect sensitive information (like your email address and body dimensions) and who we share this information with (simply put - NOBODY).
On sharing information with other social networks like Facebook: One of the methods to create an account is to connect with Facebook. This worries some users because they don't know if we'll share this information. Our policy on sharing information to Facebook is simple. We don't. Ever. We use Facebook for one thing - to check that you self-identify as a woman.
The only time information is shared with Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr is when you choose to share a post publicly. When it is we strip out most of the information in the post and only show a few, non-sensitive and non-personally identifying bits like where you found the item. We never share your measurements or information - it's simply an image and some text with a link back to BeauCoo so people who find your post interesting can sign up.
In order to make BeauCoo a better product we collect information on things like how, when, where and from what devices people use BeauCoo. We do this so we can improve the product by tweaking things like screen layout or usability. Because we're a small team we use information like this to help us prioritize what needs to be fixed most.
Sometimes it's interesting to other people to share stats on how awesome our community is or how people like to use our site. We don't put any detail in this information if we publish it.
When you sign up you trust us with some pretty sensitive information. If you don't want to share that information with us it's likely that your experience in BeauCoo won't be very good :-(.
Like above we may aggregate some of our user data on how people use our site. We never share any personal info in this aggregate data (and have actually never shared data on how people use our site)
There's two kinds of people that get to see the information you share with BeauCoo: BeauCoo employees (5 of us) and BeauCoo contractors. Everyone at BeauCoo is bound by nondisclosure agreements and privacy agreements and subject to immediate dismissal for any behaviour that's inappropriate. The only time we'd ever share info is if law-enforcement legally forced us too - but the chances of that are pretty low to be frank.
We'll send you emails, but we'll try to at least keep them interesting and non-spammy. We love feedback too and email is the best way for us to ask for your opinion and feedback.
We love feedback and want you to feel safe. If you have any concerns feel free to email any of the co-founders with questions.

BeauCoo Technologies Inc. ("BeauCoo") operates several websites including beaucoo.com, and beaucoo.ca. It is BeauCoo's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.
Like most website operators, BeauCoo collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. BeauCoo's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how BeauCoo's visitors use its website. From time to time, BeauCoo may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
Certain visitors to BeauCoo's websites choose to interact with BeauCoo in ways that require BeauCoo to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that BeauCoo gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for an account on http://BeauCoo.com to provide an email address. In each case, BeauCoo collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with BeauCoo. BeauCoo does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
BeauCoo may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its websites. BeauCoo may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, BeauCoo does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
BeauCoo discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on BeauCoo's behalf or to provide services available at BeauCoo's websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using BeauCoo's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. BeauCoo will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, BeauCoo discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when BeauCoo believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of BeauCoo, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of a BeauCoo website and have supplied your email address, BeauCoo may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what's going on with BeauCoo and our products. We will primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. BeauCoo takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
